“I just don’t feel like myself.”
Easily agitated? Inconsistent sleep? Aching knees? Growing hair where you don’t want it and losing it where you do? No wonder we’ve been conditioned to dread menopause. Unlike the celebrated milestones around puberty and pregnancy, menopause is bogged down in myth, medical misdiagnosis, and sexist and ageist tropes.
Our "From Maiden to Matriarch" ½-day retreat is about taking the alternate path to celebrate the menopause transition, which Traditional Chinese Medicine sees as our “Second Spring”, a time to reap the rewards of what we have planted along the way. This moment in our lives is full of wonder, growth, enlightenment and freedom. With the right tools, signposts and support, we can rediscover a sense of safety in our bodies, take back agency, and find joy!
Roisin and Kristen are collaborating to create an empowering space for supporting you in transition from perimenopause to menopause. In community, we will address myth-busting facts, practice evidence-based yoga for menopause, and guided meditation for menopause symptom support. Tapping into our creative energies, we will make flower crowns for our “Second Spring” rite of passage, with the labyrinth serving as our container for the guided experience.
Be sure to bring your adventurous spirit. We’ll share this time together as sisters - not in silence, hiding and suffering through this part of our lives, but in community, out loud, vibrant and empowered.
This gathering is for any woman on the cusp of or surfing the chaos of perimenopause, in the deep-end of menopause, or ready to drop pearls of wisdom from the shores of “no longer give a *%!# what people think.”
